Last week Erik's mom came to visit for a few days. It's always fun to see Grandma. The kids love having visitors.
Having a visitor gave us an excuse to take some fun field trips. One day we went here:
It was beautiful.
We had fun digging in the sand, playing in the waves, and enjoying the view.
Another day we visited the Getty Museum. We've lived here for 3 1/2 yrs and finally visited this major attraction.
It was really beautiful and interesting. It was nice to expose our kids to some culture for once.
Thanks for coming to visit, Grandma! It was fun to see you!

Marian park looks cool. Maybe we should have an outing there! How long did it take to get there?
nothing like a visit from g-ma to get you out to see your own town. We see more of NC when we have visitors than we ever do by ourselves. Looks like you had fun!

Looks like a wonderful adventure! You'll have to do some smaller scale adventuring here in Boise! We'd sure love to see you. Been way too long!
Looks like fun. What did you think of the Getty with kids? Was it fun?
Maybe I'll take my parents up to Marina Park when they're in town.
Lori, it was our first time at the Getty and I thought it actually went really well. The kids lasted longer than I thought they would. And the cafeteria food was excellent--sweet potato fries, yum!!! I would like to go sometime w/o kids so I could really peruse the art and appreciate it.
Tracy, Marina Park was abt 30-40 min away, not too bad. The actual beach part was pretty small, but it wasn't super crowded when we went around 10 am. We should all go sometime, it was super fun!
